After
the construction of the new International
Terminal, Dalaman Airport is ready to be the
biggest touristic airport of Turkey. Considering
that the old terminal had a capacity of 3
million passangers per year, the new terminal,
constructed on an area of 149.000 m2 and having
a capacity of 10 million passangers per year,
will definitely increase the touristic potential
of the region. With its 210.000 sqm apron,
Dalaman Airport will be the 3rd biggest airport
after Istanbul and Antalya. Serving for areas
such as; Marmaris, Datca, Fethiye, Köycegiz,
Ortaca, Dalyan, Göcek, Sarigerme etc.,
it is assumed that the accomodation capacity
of the region will increase up to 300.000
in a short time, with the help of projects
like “Dalaman Tourism City Project”,
having 35.000 bed capacity. The International
Terminal of Dalaman Airport is designed to
have all the features of a big international
terminal and creates an atmosphere, which
is similar to the ones abroad.
